Miniloc Island is an island some six kilometers away from El Nido town, with Miniloc Island Resort on it. The resort is placed in a beautiful cove with a backdrop of sheer limestone cliffs, reminiscent of a coastal village.
Although the resort offers many modern conveniences and activities, the real appeal of Miniloc Island is its natural attractions, especially Big Lagoon, Small Lagoon and Secret Lagoon, which are included in El Nido Island hopping Tour A. All these offer incredible visage of natural beauty and serenity.
Big Lagoon is one of the best snorkeling spots in El Nido, thanks to the rich coral and marine life. Jacks, sergeant majors, damsel fish, fusiliers, and many crustaceans are abundant in the lagoon. Small Lagoon is hidden from plain sight, and is reached via small crack in the rock. It is one of the best kayaking spots in El Nido, and that is a great way to experience and enjoy it, by kayaking and exploring what it has to offer. Paddle around the lagoon and discover its caves and pools in the inner parts. Also available is diving from the surrounding cliffs, for the most daring.
On the southern end of Miniloc Island, there is a cove with a small beach with towering limestone wall in the background. On the first look, there’s not much to see here, but the huge wall holds a secret – a small opening which is the entrance to the secret lagoon. The water is shallow and it’s not hard to get through to reach this little wonder of nature. The lagoon is quite small with high limestone encircling it and providing shade, due to which the waters are cooler than outside. The waters are shallow and very nice for swimming, relaxing and enjoying the beauty and remoteness of this world.
