Close to Banana and Bulog Islands, Malcapuya island takes a 1.5 hours boat trip from Coron town to get to, and you can even get a nice lunch on the boat to make the trip more enjoyable. When you arrive what you will see can only be described as a deserted island paradise. The unreal Malcapuya beach is over a kilometer long, with fine white sand, which many locals consider the most beautiful beach in Coron. Water is sparkling blue and warm, and you may be tempted to jump in for a quick dip as soon as you get there. If you are into snorkeling, you will enjoy seeking famous Malcapuya’s giant clams, some 30-35 centimeters in diameter and in vibrant colors, various species of fish that freely swim around.
Malcapuya island has a viewing deck situated on the rocks overlooking the beach. Here, you can get a wonderful dreamlike visage of the island and the surrounding waters to take pictures for your friends and family.
Near the beach you can have a picnic lunch with local specialties, buy some coconut milk and rest on the hammocks under the tall coconut trees, or have a relaxing massage.
If you decide to stay longer than one day, there are beach cottages or simple huts for rent that are elevated just a few meters from the shoreline. In the evening you can camp on the beach and enjoy the evening sunset painting the sea red, which beauty just has to be seen.
In the morning, waking up with morning sunrise is a perfect way to start a new day and continue your island hopping trip.
