Another small stretch of white sand beach located right by Banol Beach is Smith Beach. Smith Beach is quite similar to Banol Beach, although it is wider and has less foliage. It is a more family friendly area to swim in since there is less coral. For those who enjoy sites and like to explore the beach, the limestone rock formations are quite interesting and beautiful to see and are more widespread on the beach itself.
How to Get There
As yet another short stretch of beach, boat is the only option for any person who wants to go to Smith Beach. The beach may be included as part of a tour of Coron, or one may simply rent a boat to get there.
What to See and Do
There is not much to do on the island since it is quite small, but here are a few suggestions:
Find starfish Smith Beach is quite popular for the population of starfish that are there. Be sure to hunt for some while on the island.
Swim There is a much larger swimming area at Smith Beach compared to Banol Beach. Much of the area by the shore is clear, so you do not have to worry much about the coral. Although, it is advisable to protect your feet in case you step on sea urchins, which are native to the area.
Rent a cottage There are no resorts on the beach, so if any visitor needs a place to rest, then there are cottages available for rent. There is also a small store by the beach and the area of the cottages for anyone who wants to buy snacks or drinks.
Have lunch on the beach This beach is one of the destinations for lunch and beach picnics on island hopping tours of Coron. It is a beautiful place to just settle down and relax in for a few hours. It is more advisable to bring ready-made food unless you bring your own equipment to cook. With a chance like this, who would want to pass up a relaxing picnic on a gorgeous beach?
