Described by locals to be a virgin white beach, Malcapuya Beach truly has fine sand that is much whiter than any in the area. The beach is very wide and very long, which is quite a difference compared to the other beaches in Coron on this list. It is yet another hub of immense biodiversity, and due to this and the wide space, has a few resorts in the area. It is one of the snorkeling hotspots in Coron, and you should not miss out on some of the marine life native to the area.
How to Get There
You can find the beach on Malcapuya island. You can only get there by boat, and one may rent one that comes from the main island of Coron. This island is sometimes also included in island hopping packages. It takes a little longer than an hour and a half to get to the island, and the ride can be quite rough depending on the weather and season, but it is definitely worth it.
What to See and Do
This gorgeous and large beach has several possible actitivities that you may engage in.
Swim This is quite an ideal swimming spot because you have to go quite far out before you encounter any rocks or coral. You can enjoy the clear waters and gleaming white sand without having to worry about stepping on anything harmful.
Snorkel One of the things native to the area are giant clams, so be sure to hunt for some when you go out snorkeling. There is also much beauty and color in the marine life, which can make you want to snorkel for ages. If you are lucky, you can even find a few baby sharks – don’t worry, these are the harmless kind.
Enjoy fresh coconut The beach is dotted with coconut trees, so you should definitely grab one while you’re there. You could ask a guide or local with you on your tour, or if you are willing, you could go to one of the resorts for one.
