Palawan is the region in the Philippines known to have some of the world’s best beaches. One of the few places in the world that has accessible white sand beaches in a tropical and warm climate, it is a must-visit destination for any beach-loving tourist. One great destination within the region is Coron, which composes half of the Busuanga island in the northernmost part of Palawan. It is separated from the main island of Palawan, which makes the area more remote.
It is quite isolated, which is partly because of the active preservation of the culture of the indigenous people of Palawan. Thus, areas home to certain indigenous groups, like Coron, are not overrun with resorts and hotels or developed in tourism. This is why a visit to Coron and any of its beaches really brings you far away from the bustle of the city and groups of tourits. In this more isolated area, visitors are given the opportunity to see an untouched natural landscape and all of the wonders that it has to offer. Being a less mainstream destination, it is also very cheap to engage in activities in the area, like diving, which is very good in Coron because it is a very rich site of biodiversity. For any beach-lover, nature-lover or diver, Coron is a destination that cannot be overlooked; and just like any island, there are several beaches and destinations within Coron that are worth visiting.
